Guided Tours

Explore the San Antonio Botanical Garden through interactive and engaging tours. Learn about plant collections and exhibitions across the 38-acre Garden with trained docents. Explore the Guided Tour options offered at the Garden listed below.

Public Guided Tours

Preregistered Public Guided and Drop-In Tours are offered regularly throughout the year. Topics range from native plants to ethnobotany to sustainable gardening! Scroll below to view available dates and times. 

Private Guided Tours

Private Guided Tours are designed for groups looking to explore with a guide. Learn about plant collections and exhibitions across the 38-acre Garden with trained docents. Tours last about one hour and are designed for groups with at least 8 people. Groups over 15 will be split into separate groups, touring at the same time or consecutively. 

Private Tours options: General Garden Tour, WaterSaver Gardening, Lucile Halsell Conservatory, Huntopia Guided Tour (June 2024 – October 2024)   

Private Guided Tours may be scheduled: Tuesdays – Fridays, 10 am, 11 am, and 1 pm. Reservations must be made at least 4 weeks in advance.

Fee: $27 per adult, $11 per child (aged 3-13), $12 per university/college participant with valid ID 

Guided tour fees include general admission to the Garden.

Group Rate

Plan your group visit to the Garden hassle-free by purchasing your tickets in advance. Designed for groups of 15 or more looking to explore at their own pace. These tickets provide entry without the need for a guide and are not intended for school groups.

University & College Group Rate

Explore the Garden’s 38 acres at your own pace. This discounted group rate is available to universities, colleges, and trade schools and is designed for groups without the need for a guide. Groups must have 10 or more participants to receive the discounted group rate.   

Pre-K through 12th Grade Programs

The Garden offers a variety of exciting learning adventures for students of all ages. All programs are TEKS-based, active, and age-appropriate, so you can feel confident as an educator in choosing a Garden experience to enrich your class curriculum.
